Renegades Baseball recently volunteered at Kendrigan field in Buffalo Grove to serve as “buddies” for developmentally disabled kids participating in the Keshet Buddy Baseball program. All three levels in the Renegades program – U11, U12, and U13 – offered their time in support of boys and girls with special needs by pairing up with them as buddies. The ‘Gades buddies helped their players as needed, whether it be pointing to where the ball should be thrown or helping them run the bases, while encouraging them, keeping them safe, and sharing in the excitement of the game.

Keshet, a nonprofit organization serving individuals with special needs, hosted its annual Buddy Baseball All Star Game, sponsored by the family of Jerome and Freda Joseph on June 28 at Kendrigan Field in Buffalo Grove. Renegades U12 players had the opportunity to help volunteer Coach Dean Klassman, along with his wife Leslie and their children Brooke and Ben. Local radio station, 98.3 FM-WRLR, “The Voice of Lake County” was on site.
