The 13u Renegades are continuing their strong season and seem to be hitting their stride, with a 9-1 record in their past 10 games. As we sit at the halfway point of the season, the Gades are 23-9 overall, including a 12-4 record in the MSBL “A” league. In addition, the team is leading the Mike’s Memorial 13u league with a 6-1 record.

Pitching, fielding and timely hitting have keyed the recent run and have been a staple of the season. As with all Renegades teams, aggressiveness in all facets of the game has been encouraged and demanded.

The next two weeks should be very busy ones for the boys, with league games almost daily, leading into a 4th of July tourney in Aurora. This year’s team is a gritty one, and has shown a rare ability to come back from early deficits. The hope (and anticipation) is that the second half of the season will be as strong as the first half.

As with previous years, the boys’ hard work and dedication to the program will be rewarded with a year-end trip. The boys will board a plane to New Orleans and will spend time there as well as locations yet to be determined as they work their way back home to Chicago.
