Renegades Baseball Finishes 2013 Season Strong

August 5, 2013 – Renegades Baseball celebrated a successful 26th season at its annual banquet on Tuesday, July 30.  With teams at the 11U, 12U, and 13U levels this year, the program’s focus on fundamentals paid off, and each team showed improvement as the season progressed.

The 13U team had the most wins of all the 13U teams in Mike’s Memorial Lake County Baseball League going 16-4 in league play and finishing the season with a 9-0 winning streak.  The team captured titles at the Jim Christ Memorial Tournament in Glenview and the Second Annual Mount Si Big Barrel Bash in Issaquah, Washington.  The team also participated in community service events supporting the International Rett Syndrome Foundation through “Cammy Can Reverse Rett” as well as Buddy Baseball in Buffalo Grove.  The team capped off the season with a 10-day trip to the Seattle, Washington area.

The 12U team played in the Mid Suburban Baseball League and finished strong with a 2-1 record in the Jim Christ Memorial Tournament. The team travelled to Chillicothe for the St. Jude Brad Wallin Memorial Tournament and won its first consolation bracket game.  They also traveled to Columbus, Ohio and enjoyed lots of baseball and bonding with dinners out, movies, and go carting.

The 11U team also played in the Mike’s Memorial Lake County Baseball League and had a great finish to the season as runners up in the Jim Christ Memorial Tournament.  Along with the 13U and 12U teams, the 11U team showed their team unity and support by shaving their heads and raising funds to help support the St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital. The Renegades organization raised close to $2,500.
