The 13u Renegades are off to a good start in the 2015 season, sitting at 8-4 overall and 5-2 in MSBL league play. The team dove into league play in their opener, dropping a close opener at Leyden 4-3. After getting one game under their belts, Coach Bob Ugel’s crew ran off six straight wins, including a great comeback win over the Northwest Travelers and an exciting nine-inning affair vs. Arlington Heights Cardinals Red. The team also made a semi-final appearance in the Mundelein Memorial Day Tournament.

This year’s squad has shown to be a gritty one, with eight of the 12 games being decided by one run. This should bode well for the upcoming “dog days” of the season as the Gades are learning how to win the close ones (while giving Coach Ugel even more grey hair).

The team now heads into the heart of the season, with league play beginning in Mike’s Memorial League, MSBL’s season continuing and the program’s annual trip to Chillicothe, IL to participate in and support the Brad Wallin Memorial Tournament (learn more at http://bradley-wallin.memory-of.com/About.aspx).
